This is a “trunk” poem, I wrote it when I was about 14 or 15.
The Christmas season has arrived,
I am so happy to share
the giving of my heart to you
because I know you care.
You make the season better
with warmth and such goodwill,
that even the star on the Christmas tree
is shining brighter still.
May your Christmases be merry ones,
may the days bring life anew,
and all the hopes you’ve ever had
~ Are my Christmas wish for you ~
Sweet!
🙂 Almost everything rhymed back then, love was in the air, any job could be had, and the biggest thing I had to worry about was test grades!

Fudge a few bits here and there and you have yourself the lyrics for a Christmas song. Now who might sing it on their next Christmas album. Michael Buble? Tony Bennet? or Go bluesy with Serena Ryder? Willie Nelson? A pumped up version al la Lady Gaga?
You were writing at 14! Now that is cool. I never attempted to write squat till I was 50 (which is remarkable since am only 39 -am aging backwards).
Lol, actually Hudson, I started when I was around 10. My older sister sent a poem to the local newspaper and they published it in their “Poet’s Pen” that came out on Wednesdays. Since I wanted to do everything my older sister did – I sent one too. It was published, and the fire was kindled. As for who to sing the song – you can Youtube it, but Porky Pig does an awesome ABlu Ablu ABlue Blue Blue Christmas… Baaahahahaahhaa!

Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, and Happy New Year, Neeks! Thanks for sharing this little poem. So sweet! You’ve inspired me to open that box under the stairs and read what I wrote back in the day. There will be much cringing, I’m sure 🙂

Neeks — this is a lovely poem for a 14-year-old to write! Your talent was starting to show even then.
Well, “I” thought it was anyways (as a kid). But then again, we all thought we were important back in high school! After school I quit writing for years and years.

You must have been a lovely teenager.
My Mother would disagree lol, but thank you for the compliment. Looking back, I was a usual, self-centered drama queen teen (who really liked to write). lol.
