Step Right up Folks, Step Right up!

Copious, Superfluous, Latrine.

Music blared from unseen loudspeakers as Truva Allen walked past the Ferris wheel.  Row after row of lights lit the Midway.  The lights were strung high on poles and attracted all manner of insects.  They beat themselves silly against the hot bulbs then fell to the ground to be crushed by girlfriends who were “like, totally” dragging their high school boyfriends to test their strength and win them a teddy bear.

Truva was not one of the airheads.  She was supposed to meet Matt here at eight but had come at six to look at some of the exhibits.  Read the rest of this entry

You Crazy B!

Popelia lifted her head, eyestrain was getting to her again.  She rubbed a tired hand across her face and stretched.  I need to get up and move a little, she thought.  Get my blood moving again!  Popelia was an archaeologist, and a good one.  She was an expert on all things ‘2000.’   She was tired and a little sore from bending over her lab table, she had been there for several hours now.

Mt. Washington Auto Road

The White Mountain Auto Road is only open a few months of the year.  They don’t bill themselves as having “The World’s Worst Weather” for nothing.   The conditions are so unpredictable that the road is only open from mid-May to mid-October.  Usually.  The road seems barely wide enough in places for two cars to pass, and the two car theory is particularly frightening when one of them is a big honkin’ SUV.
